Cell Lab PTFE (Teflon) Planetary Ball Mill Grinding Jars

High-purity PTFE jars for caustic & abrasive sample milling in planetary ball mills

Cell Lab PTFE (Teflon) planetary ball mill grinding jars are engineered for ultra-clean, chemical-resistant milling in advanced R&D and industrial laboratories.
The non-stick surface minimises sample retention, while the high chemical inertness of PTFE ensures zero cross-contamination during milling.
Ideal for caustic, abrasive, or high-purity samples such as ceramics, catalysts, environmental materials, and battery components.
Each jar includes a lid and silicone sealing gasket; grinding media are ordered separately.

Key Features

  • Pure PTFE construction – outstanding chemical stability, non-stick surface, and effortless cleaning.

  • Exceptional abrasion resistance – designed to handle caustic or abrasive powders without premature wear.

  • Secure sealing – silicone gasket and precision lid prevent leaks and maintain sample integrity.

  • Broad compatibility – fits most planetary ball mills used in laboratories and pilot R&D setups.

  • Wide capacity range – available from 50 ml to 5,000 ml for flexible experimental scaling.

Applications & Industries

Cell Lab PTFE (Teflon) planetary mill jars are widely used in:

  • Battery materials research – cathode/anode powder mixing and electrolyte additive preparation

  • Ceramic and catalyst synthesis – chemical milling of oxides and corrosive compounds

  • Environmental science – soil, sediment, and waste sample homogenisation

  • Advanced materials R&D – nanoparticle dispersion and polymer blending

  • Corrosive material processing – high-purity applications requiring chemical inertness

FAQ

Q1: Can PTFE jars be used for both wet and dry milling?
A: Yes. PTFE jars are ideal for both modes. Their smooth, non-stick surface prevents material adhesion, even with slurry-type samples.

Q2: Are PTFE jars chemically stable with acids or alkalis?
A: Absolutely. PTFE is chemically inert to most acids, alkalis, and solvents, making it suitable for caustic and reactive material milling.

Q3: What grinding media should I use with PTFE jars?
A: Use zirconia or alumina balls for optimal chemical compatibility. Avoid metal-based media to prevent contamination.

Q4: Are PTFE jars temperature-resistant?
A: They maintain stability up to ~200 °C but should not be exposed to direct heating or flame. For higher temperatures, consider PEEK or alumina jars.

Q5: How do I maintain PTFE jars for long-term use?
A: Clean gently with ethanol or deionised water, avoid sharp tools, and store away from UV exposure. Check sealing gaskets periodically for wear.
