High-purity yttria-stabilised zirconia vacuum grinding jars designed for planetary ball milling under vacuum or inert gas environments.
The Cell Lab Zirconia Vacuum Milling Jar Series is engineered for high-purity grinding and milling applications where oxidation, contamination and airborne exposure must be minimised during processing.
Manufactured from yttria-stabilised zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) and protected by a durable 304 stainless steel vacuum jacket, these vacuum milling jars provide excellent abrasion resistance, chemical stability and sealing performance for sensitive laboratory milling applications.
These jars are specifically designed for vacuum milling or inert gas grinding environments, making them ideal for oxygen-sensitive materials, battery materials, metal powders, ceramics and advanced functional materials.
Each vacuum jar assembly includes the grinding jar, vacuum lid, silicone sealing gasket and stainless steel vacuum sleeve. Multiple capacities from 50ml to 1000ml are available to support laboratory-scale R&D and pilot-scale material preparation.
• Vacuum and inert gas milling capability — Prevents oxidation and airborne contamination during grinding and mixing processes.
• High-purity yttria-stabilised zirconia construction — Provides excellent wear resistance and minimises metallic contamination.
• Durable stainless steel vacuum sleeve — Grade 304 stainless steel outer jacket improves vacuum sealing strength and mechanical protection.
• Excellent abrasion and chemical resistance — Suitable for fibrous, abrasive and chemically sensitive samples.
• Wide capacity range from 50ml to 1000ml — Supports laboratory research, battery material development and powder processing applications.

Q1: Why use a vacuum milling jar instead of a standard jar?
Vacuum milling jars prevent oxygen and moisture contamination during grinding, making them ideal for sensitive materials.
Q2: What grinding media should be used with these jars?
Zirconia grinding balls are recommended to minimise contamination and maximise wear resistance.
Q3: Can these jars be used under inert gas?
Yes. The jars are designed for both vacuum and inert gas milling applications.
Q4: What is the maximum recommended filling capacity?
For safe and efficient operation, the material and grinding media combined should not exceed two-thirds of the jar volume.
Q5: Are these jars suitable for battery material research?
Yes. These jars are widely used for lithium battery cathode, anode and solid-state electrolyte material preparation.
