Cell Lab Spherical Pellet Pressing Die Sets [8 mm – 50 mm]

Stainless steel die sets for uniform spherical pellet formation in catalysis, gas absorption & pharma applications

General Description

Cell Lab Spherical Pellet Pressing Die Sets are precision-engineered tools for compressing powders into uniform spherical pellets. Manufactured from 440C stainless steel with indenter hardness of RC60–62, these dies ensure durability and consistency under repeated high-pressure applications.

Spherical pellets offer distinct advantages over flat or cylindrical geometries, including enhanced surface area, improved flowability, and controlled release properties. They are widely used in catalysis, gas absorption, pharmaceuticals, and materials science, providing superior performance in both research and industrial settings.

Key Features

  1. Spherical geometry design — Produces uniform pellets with optimised surface-to-volume ratio.

  2. High-strength stainless steel — Constructed from 440C stainless steel, hardened to RC60–62.

  3. Multiple cavity sizes — Available in 8 mm, 15 mm, 30 mm, and 50 mm spherical diameters.

  4. Versatile applications — Ideal for catalysis, drug release studies, gas storage and absorption.

  5. Customisable options — Additional diameters and split-type designs available on request.

Applications & Industries

  • Catalysis & gas absorption — High surface area spherical pellets for chemical reactions and gas storage.

  • Pharmaceuticals — Controlled drug release and formulation studies.

  • Materials science — Powder compaction into spherical geometries for advanced research.

  • Energy & environment — Spherical adsorbents for gas separation and capture.

  • Industrial R&D — Robust sample preparation for testing and analysis.

FAQ

Q1: Why choose spherical pellets instead of cylindrical ones?
Spherical pellets have a higher surface area-to-volume ratio, offering improved reactivity, flowability, and controlled release.

Q2: What materials can be pressed with these dies?
They are suitable for pharmaceuticals, catalysts, ceramics, metals, and mineral powders.

Q3: Can these dies handle high-pressure applications?
Yes. They are built from hardened stainless steel (RC60–62) to ensure durability under repeated high loads.

Q4: Are custom sizes available?
Yes. Cell Lab offers spherical pellet dies in additional diameters upon request.

Q5: How should the dies be maintained?
Clean and dry after use, and apply light oil when stored long-term to prevent rust.
