Cell Lab Polygon Shape Pressing Die Sets [30 mm & 50 mm]

Precision-engineered alloy steel dies for polygonal pellet and component shaping

General Description

Cell Lab Polygon Shape Pressing Die Sets are designed for compressing powders into polygonal-shaped pellets, including triangles, pentagons, hexagons, and other multi-sided figures. Constructed from Cr12MoV alloy tool steel (equivalent to AISI D2), hardened to HRC60–62, these dies provide excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability.

Polygonal pellets offer unique advantages in catalysis, gas absorption, solid-state battery research, and drug delivery, where increased surface area and tailored geometries improve material performance. With standard sizes at 30 mm and 50 mm, these dies also support customisable geometries for advanced research and specialised industrial needs.

Key Features

  1. Polygonal cavity design — Supports triangle, pentagon, hexagon, and custom multi-sided shapes.

  2. High-strength alloy steel — Made from Cr12MoV (AISI D2 equivalent), hardened to HRC60–62.

  3. Enhanced surface area — Polygonal pellets provide superior performance in catalysis and gas absorption.

  4. Multiple size options — Standard diameters: 30 mm and 50 mm.

  5. Customisable solutions — Bespoke geometries and dimensions available upon request.

Applications & Industries

  • Catalysis — Polygonal pellets for catalyst testing and performance enhancement.

  • Gas absorption & separation — High-surface-area pellets for sorbents and membranes.

  • Battery research — Custom-shaped electrodes and porous structures for advanced batteries.

  • Ceramics & composites — Polygonal compacts for structural and functional studies.

  • Pharmaceuticals — Novel pellet geometries for drug formulation and controlled release.

FAQ

Q1: What is the advantage of polygon-shaped pellets?
Polygonal shapes increase surface area, offering improved performance in catalysis, gas storage, and drug dissolution.

Q2: Can you provide custom polygon geometries?
Yes. Cell Lab offers custom dies with tailored polygonal shapes beyond the standard triangle, pentagon, or hexagon.

Q3: What materials are compatible?
Ceramic powders, metallic powders, catalysts, pharmaceutical formulations, and battery electrode materials.

Q4: How should these dies be maintained?
Clean after each use, store in a dry environment, and apply protective oil during long-term storage.

Q5: Are polygon dies consumables?
Yes. Warranty covers manufacturing defects only; wear and rust are not covered.
