Versatile Nylon jars for medium-hard & abrasive samples in planetary ball mills
Cell Lab PA6 / Nylon planetary grinding jars balance abrasion resistance, mechanical strength, and low metal contamination for geology, metallurgy, pigments, electronics, ceramics, environmental testing, and battery-materials R&D.
Each set includes the jar body, lid, and silicone sealing gasket. Grinding media are ordered separately.
Recommended maximum loading: ⅔ of jar volume; match jar and ball hardness to the material being milled.
Durable PA6 construction – strong, reliable, and cost-effective for routine R&D.
Very good abrasion resistance – suitable for abrasive, medium-hard samples.
Secure sealing – lid and silicone gasket help prevent leaks and contamination.
Planetary-mill compatible – cylindrical geometry sized for laboratory planetary mills.
Broad capacity coverage – from 50 ml to 25,000 ml, from small-scale tests to pilot runs.

Cell Lab Nylon (PA6) planetary grinding jars are ideal for:
Battery-material R&D – cathode/anode powder homogenisation and mixing
Ceramics and pigments – milling oxides and colour additives
Metallurgy and geology – mineral sample preparation and micro-grinding
Electronics and environmental testing – fine grinding of polymers, soils and slurries
Educational & industrial R&D labs requiring cost-effective, non-metallic jars
Q1: Can nylon jars be used for wet milling?
A: Yes. Each jar includes a silicone gasket that provides reliable leak prevention for both wet and dry milling applications.
Q2: How do I prevent jar warping under load?
A: Avoid excessive rotational speed and keep the filling ratio below ⅔. Uniform distribution of grinding media also helps maintain structural integrity.
Q3: Which grinding media are most compatible with nylon jars?
A: Use alumina or zirconia balls to minimise metal contamination; stainless steel and tungsten carbide can be used for short-duration milling if hardness matching is ensured.
Q4: Can nylon jars withstand high temperatures?
A: They are heat-resistant up to about 100 °C in operation and have a melting point of 216 °C. Avoid excessive thermal cycling to maintain longevity.
Q5: When should I replace the jar or gasket?
A: Replace when you observe scratches, discolouration, or seal deformation that affects airtightness or sample purity.
