High-Integrity Powder Compaction for Ceramics, Metals & Advanced Materials
The Cell Lab Manual Cold Isostatic Press (CIP) series is designed for compacting powdered materials into solid, homogeneous billets under uniform hydrostatic pressure. By applying equal pressure from all directions, these presses ensure dense, crack-free green bodies that are ideal for subsequent machining or sintering.
Cold isostatic pressing is widely used for producing wear-resistant parts, ceramics, hard alloys, and battery electrode precursors. It is particularly suited for components too large for uniaxial presses and materials that require consistent density distribution.
Available in 12T and 60T models, these CIP systems are equipped with robust safety shields, precision-machined pressure vessels, and durable alloy construction, ensuring reliable laboratory and pilot-scale operation.
Uniform hydrostatic compaction – Equal pressure applied from all directions eliminates density gradients and improves integrity.
Two model options (12T & 60T) – Flexible vessel sizes (22 mm & 50 mm IDs) support a wide range of sample requirements.
High-pressure performance – Chamber pressures up to 300 MPa for advanced ceramics, metals, and composites.
Safety-focused design – Plexiglass or polycarbonate safety shields ensure operator protection.
Robust vessel materials – High-strength alloy pressure chambers provide durability and reliability.

Q1: What is Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP)?
A: CIP applies equal pressure from all directions to powders inside a flexible mold or rigid die, producing dense, uniform compacts ideal for sintering or machining.
Q2: What is the maximum pressure these models can achieve?
A: Both the 12T and 60T presses support up to 300 MPa chamber pressure.
Q3: What sample sizes can be processed?
A: The 12T model supports up to Ø22 × 70 mm; the 60T model supports up to Ø50 × 150 mm.
Q4: Are digital pressure gauges available?
A: Yes. Both models can be equipped with optional digital pressure gauges for improved accuracy.
Q5: What safety measures are included?
A: Each model includes a protective safety shield (plexiglass or polycarbonate, depending on model) to ensure operator safety during high-pressure operation.
