High-performance Li-Mg alloy foil for advanced lithium battery research
Cell Lab lithium magnesium (Li-Mg, 10 wt% Mg) alloy foil is an advanced anode material widely used in Li-ion batteries, Li-S batteries, and solid-state lithium metal batteries. The addition of magnesium improves energy density, reduces volume expansion, and enhances cycling stability compared with pure lithium anodes.
Serving as a solid electron/ion dual-conductive Li host, this alloy effectively prevents interface deterioration and volume collapse during cycling. The foil’s lightweight design and high stability make it ideal for high-performance battery research and prototype development.
Cell Lab also provides other lithium alloys such as Li-Al, Li-B, Li-Si, and Li-In for specialised applications.
⚠️ Handling Notice: Lithium alloys are extremely reactive in air. Never open in ambient conditions. All operations must be conducted inside an argon-filled glove box (moisture < 2% RH).
High Energy Density — Li-Mg alloy enables higher capacity compared with traditional lithium anodes.
Reduced Volume Expansion — Magnesium stabilises the electrode, improving safety and cycle life.
Enhanced Cycling Stability — Maintains high performance over multiple charge/discharge cycles.
Customisable Composition & Dimensions — Standard Mg content: 10 wt% (other ratios available on request).
Research-Grade Quality — Packaged in dry room, with impurity levels tightly controlled.

Q1: Can the Mg content be customised?
Yes, the standard alloy contains 10 wt% Mg, but other compositions can be supplied on request.
Q2: How should the alloy be stored?
Inside an argon-filled glove box with < 2% RH. Exposure to air will cause rapid oxidation.
Q3: What is the typical application of Li-Mg alloy foils?
They are primarily used as advanced anode materials for next-generation lithium batteries requiring high energy density and improved cycle life.
Q4: What impurity levels are guaranteed?
Na ≤ 100 ppm, Ca ≤ 50 ppm, K ≤ 100 ppm, Fe ≤ 10 ppm, Si ≤ 100 ppm, Cl ≤ 10 ppm, N ≤ 100 ppm.
Q5: What warranty applies?
Warranty covers manufacturing defects only and must be reported within one week of delivery.
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
