Ready-to-use LiCoO₂ cathode foil for laboratory-scale lithium-ion cell fabrication
The Cell Lab LiCoO₂ Coated Aluminium Foil provides a pre-fabricated cathode substrate designed for coin cell and pouch cell assembly in lithium-ion battery research. Coated with high-purity LiCoO₂ (LCO) on a single side of 99.5%-pure aluminium foil, this electrode delivers stable electrochemical performance, high energy density, and excellent cycle consistency.
Originally introduced by the Goodenough group, LiCoO₂ remains one of the most widely used cathode materials due to its reliable 160 mAh/g-level capacity, high voltage profile (3.7 – 4.2 V), and strong thermal stability, making it ideal for laboratory R&D, prototyping, and teaching environments. Each sheet is vacuum-sealed to prevent contamination and is ready for use after drying.

Q1: Can this foil be used directly in coin cell assembly?
Yes. After vacuum-drying to remove moisture, it is ready for cell stacking and sealing.
Q2: Is double-side coating available?
Yes. Dual-sided LiCoO₂ foils can be supplied on request for pouch cell assembly.
Q3: What electrolyte is recommended for testing?
1 M LiPF₆ in EC/DMC (1:1 v/v) is commonly used for LiCoO₂ systems.
Q4: Can the coating density be modified for higher loadings?
Yes. Customised mass loading (8–15 mg/cm²) and binder ratios are available.
Q5: How should the sheets be stored?
Store in a moisture-free, argon-filled environment to preserve cathode activity.
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
