Efficient particle size reduction for research and laboratory applications
The Cell Lab Laboratory Attritor Stirred Ball Mill is designed for high-efficiency milling, crushing, and dispersion of materials at laboratory and pilot scale.
By using a high-speed rotating agitator and grinding media, this system achieves rapid and uniform particle size reduction through impact, shear, and frictional forces, delivering fine powders suitable for advanced research applications.
With container volumes from 1 L to 20 L, it combines flexibility with reliable, repeatable performance across materials science, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, electronics, and chemical industries.
Optional cooling systems and multiple jar material choices (sold separately) allow precise control over processing conditions for sensitive or temperature-dependent materials.
Laboratory-scale versatility – available in 1 L, 5 L, 10 L, and 20 L capacities for research and pilot production.
Low vibration and noise – specially designed for quiet and stable operation in laboratory environments.
Adjustable speed control – wide variable speed range with optional cooling system to support diverse processing needs.
Broad material compatibility – accepts stainless steel, zirconia, polyurethane, and other jar types (sold separately).
Compact and easy operation – ergonomic design ensures simple setup, cleaning, and reliable long-term performance.

Cell Lab laboratory attritor mills are ideal for:
Battery materials R&D – mixing, dispersion, and homogenisation of electrode and electrolyte powders.
Ceramic and metallurgical processing – refining and blending oxides, carbides, and metallic powders.
Pharmaceutical and chemical laboratories – formulation of high-purity powders and emulsions.
Pigment, ink, and coating production – achieving uniform dispersion and fine particle distribution.
Nanomaterial and composite synthesis – controlled particle size reduction under reproducible conditions.
Q1: What distinguishes the laboratory attritor from a planetary ball mill?
A: The attritor uses a stirred media mechanism that enables faster, more uniform grinding for larger batch volumes compared with planetary systems.
Q2: Can this mill handle both wet and dry processes?
A: Yes. The system supports both dry and wet milling depending on the jar material and media used.
Q3: What cooling options are available?
A: A water-cooling jacket or external chiller can be connected to control temperature during extended runs or heat-sensitive material processing.
Q4: What jar materials are compatible?
A: Cell Lab offers stainless steel, zirconia, polyurethane, alumina, and other options to suit different chemical and mechanical requirements.
Q5: How should I select the right model size?
A: The 1 L and 2 L models suit small-batch R&D, while 5 L–20 L models are recommended for pilot or pre-production studies requiring higher throughput.
