Cell Lab High-Purity Alumina Ceramic Grinding Jars [50 ml – 5000 ml]

Premium polished jars for laboratory and industrial milling applications

Cell Lab high-purity alumina ceramic grinding jars are precision-engineered for contamination-free, high-efficiency milling.
Made from >99 % Al₂O₃ ceramic, these jars deliver superior hardness, exceptional wear resistance, and chemical stability.
They are widely used for powder preparation in research and production across ceramics, metallurgy, geology, chemistry, ink, paint, and materials science.
Each jar is supplied with a lid and sealing gasket, ensuring reliable airtight performance during grinding.

Key Features

  • High-purity Al₂O₃ construction – manufactured from premium alumina ceramic for maximum durability and chemical inertness.

  • Excellent mechanical strength – hardness > 80 HRA and density 3.8 g/cm³ provide outstanding wear resistance and long service life.

  • Secure sealing system – each set includes a precision-fitted lid and rubber gasket to maintain airtight milling conditions.

  • Versatile application range – ideal for medium-hard or fibrous materials in laboratory and pilot-scale environments.

  • Customisable grinding media – compatible with alumina ceramic balls (3 / 5 / 10 / 15 / 20 mm diameters, sold separately).

Applications & Industries

Cell Lab alumina ceramic jars are ideal for:

  • Battery and energy research – mixing and milling of electrode powders and solid electrolytes.

  • Ceramic and metallurgical processing – fine milling of oxides and metal powders.

  • Chemical and pharmaceutical laboratories – contamination-free sample preparation.

  • Geological and environmental analysis – pulverising rock or soil samples.

  • Paint and pigment formulation – precise colour dispersion with high purity standards.

FAQ

Q1: What advantages do alumina jars offer over metal ones?
A: Alumina is harder, chemically inert, and non-metallic, preventing sample oxidation and metal contamination.

Q2: Can alumina jars be used for both wet and dry milling?
A: Yes. They are suitable for both modes but should not be used with acidic slurries that attack ceramic surfaces.

Q3: Are these jars compatible with planetary and roller mills?
A: Yes. Their standard cylindrical design fits most planetary and roller mill systems.

Q4: How do I select the appropriate grinding media?
A: Use alumina balls of the same purity to avoid cross-contamination and ensure consistent particle size reduction.

Q5: How should the jars be maintained?
A: Clean with ethanol or deionised water after use, avoid thermal shock, and store dry to extend service life.
