Cell Lab Double-Sided Carbon-Coated Aluminium Foil [For Cathode Current Collector Applications]

High-conductivity aluminium current collector with dual carbon coating for advanced battery systems

The Cell Lab Double-Sided Carbon-Coated Aluminium Foil is an advanced current collector engineered for use in lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors and high-energy-density storage systems. Each side is coated with a uniform carbon layer that improves electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and interface adhesion, ensuring superior performance and stability during long-term cycling.

Constructed from high-purity aluminium with precision carbon treatment, this dual-coated foil offers excellent heat dissipation and mechanical strength. It delivers consistent contact resistance and enhanced surface uniformity—ideal for demanding cathode formulations used in modern energy-storage research and production.

Key Features

  • Improved Electrical Conductivity – Dual carbon layers enhance surface conductivity and ensure efficient current transfer.

  • Better Heat Dissipation – Facilitates rapid thermal diffusion under high-current operation, preventing localised overheating.

  • Increased Effective Surface Area – Carbon texture promotes better electrode adhesion and electrochemical reactivity.

  • Corrosion Resistance – Shields the aluminium substrate from oxidation and electrolyte corrosion for extended lifespan.

  • Reinforced Mechanical Strength – Dual coatings improve flexibility and resistance to tearing, folding or warping.

  • Excellent Chemical Stability – Maintains integrity in reactive or high-voltage battery chemistries.

    FAQ

Q1: What is the main benefit of using carbon-coated aluminium foil?
A1: It significantly improves electrical contact and corrosion resistance while reducing interface impedance between cathode material and current collector.

Q2: Can it be used with high-voltage or solid-state cathodes?
A2: Yes. Its chemical stability and uniform coating make it suitable for high-voltage and solid-state systems.

Q3: How does it differ from copper foil?
A3: Aluminium foil is lighter and chemically stable with cathode materials, while copper is primarily used for anodes.

Q4: What are the recommended processing conditions?
A4: Compatible with standard slurry coating, calendaring, and vacuum drying up to 150 °C.

Q5: How should it be stored?
A5: Keep sealed in a dry, clean environment below 40 °C to prevent surface oxidation and moisture adsorption.
