Cell Lab Cylindrical Pellet Pressing Die Sets [60–150 mm, Stainless Steel]

Precision-engineered stainless steel die sets for pellet formation in spectroscopy, materials R&D, and powder compaction

General Description

Cell Lab Cylindrical Pellet Pressing Die Sets are essential tools for compressing powdered samples into solid, compact pellets. Constructed from 440C stainless steel with hardened indenters (RC60–62), these die sets deliver strength, corrosion resistance, and reproducibility in laboratory and pilot-scale applications. They are widely used for infrared spectroscopy, XRF analysis, powder metallurgy, ceramics, and materials science research.

Available in diameters from 60 mm to 150 mm, these die sets accommodate a wide range of sample sizes. Each unit includes a cylindrical cavity, indenter, and pressing components. To maintain longevity, the die set should be cleaned, dried, and lightly oiled when stored for extended periods.

Key Features

  1. High-strength stainless steel — Made from 440C stainless steel with indenter hardness RC60–62 for durability.

  2. Versatile pellet sizes — Options range from 60 mm up to 150 mm diameter pellets, with cavity depths up to 65 mm.

  3. Laboratory-grade design — Suitable for spectroscopy, XRF, and powder metallurgy research.

  4. Customisable solutions — Larger die sets up to 200 mm available upon request.

  5. Easy maintenance — Rust-resistant with simple cleaning and oiling procedures for extended lifespan.

FAQ

Q1: Are these pressing die sets covered by warranty?
Pressing dies are consumables; warranty only applies to manufacturing defects.

Q2: How can I prevent rust on the die set?
Store in a dry environment, clean after use, and apply a light oil coating if stored long-term.

Q3: Can these die sets be customised for larger pellets?
Yes. Cell Lab offers custom pressing die sets up to 200 mm in diameter.

Q4: Which industries typically use these die sets?
They are widely used in spectroscopy labs, battery R&D, ceramics, and powder metallurgy.

Q5: What accessories are recommended with these die sets?
We recommend pairing with Cell Lab ball milling products or agate mortar & pestle sets to achieve the required powder granularity before pressing.
