Cell Lab Conductive Carbon Coated Copper Foil

Single-side carbon coated copper foil with enhanced conductivity, adhesion, and corrosion resistance for high-performance battery applications

The Cell Lab Conductive Carbon Coated Copper Foil is a precision-engineered current collector optimised for lithium-ion battery (LIB) anodes and advanced electrochemical systems. With a single-side carbon coating applied to high-purity (≥99.9%) copper substrate, this material provides superior electrical conductivity, improved adhesion to electrode materials, and enhanced corrosion resistance against electrolyte degradation.

Compared to bare copper foil, this coated variant suppresses dendrite growth, minimises internal resistance, and ensures long-term cycling stability. Its mechanical flexibility and uniform coating make it ideal for battery R&D, pilot manufacturing, and academic research applications.

Key Features

Enhanced Electrical Conductivity
Carbon coating improves charge transport, reducing internal resistance and increasing overall energy efficiency.

Superior Adhesion Strength
Provides stronger bonding between electrode material and copper substrate, reducing delamination risk.

Dendrite and Corrosion Resistance
Protects against lithium dendrite penetration and electrolyte-induced copper oxidation.

Uniform Coating Quality
Consistent 1 µm coating thickness ensures reliable electrochemical behaviour and stable surface potential.

Customisable Configuration
Available in custom widths, coating types (Super P, acetylene black, or graphite), and roll weights upon request.

FAQ

Q1: What advantage does carbon-coated copper foil provide over bare foil?
It enhances electrical conductivity, adhesion, and corrosion resistance while reducing interface impedance.

Q2: Is it compatible with solid-state or polymer electrolytes?
Yes. The carbon layer maintains good chemical stability across various solid and liquid electrolyte systems.

Q3: Can the coating be applied on both sides?
Yes. Double-sided coating options are available upon custom request.

Q4: What types of coating materials are supported?
Standard coatings use TIMCAL Super P, but alternatives like graphite or acetylene black are also available.

Q5: How should the rolls be stored?
Keep sealed in a dry, low-humidity environment to prevent oxidation and contamination before use.
