General Description

The Cell Lab Battery Grade Lithium Chips are manufactured from 99.9% purity lithium to meet the rigorous demands of Li-ion and Li-metal battery research. These precisely cut chips are widely used in coin cell assembly, split test cells, and in-situ cell R&D.

Available in a variety of diameter and thickness combinations, they ensure compatibility with CR20XX coin cells (including CR2016 and CR2032) and custom formats. All chips are manufactured in a dry room environment, then packed under controlled conditions to minimise oxidation.

⚠️ Handling Note: Lithium chips are extremely reactive to air and moisture. Always open containers inside a glove box with Argon atmosphere and <2% RH.

Q2: Why must chips be opened in a glove box?
Lithium reacts violently with oxygen and moisture. A glove box with Argon atmosphere (<2% RH) is essential.

Q3: Why do some chips have black spots?
Minor oxidation is normal. Spots can be removed with a nylon brush or scalpel.

Q4: Are these chips suitable for CR2032 coin cells?
Yes. The 16 mm × 0.6 mm variant is widely used for CR2032.

Q5: How are they shipped internationally?
They are classified as hazardous materials (hazmat) and shipped with special packaging to ensure compliance.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
