Cell Lab 3N5 (99.95%) Tantalum Pentoxide (Ta₂O₅) Tablets Evaporation Materials [1–6 mm]

High-Refractive Optical and Dielectric Coating Material

General Description

Cell Lab 3N5 (99.95%) Tantalum Pentoxide (Ta₂O₅) Tablets are premium-grade evaporation materials used in thin-film coating and electronic component manufacturing.
Tantalum Pentoxide is a white crystalline solid known for its exceptionally high refractive index, low optical absorption, and superior dielectric properties, making it a cornerstone material for optical coatings, capacitors, and semiconductor dielectric layers.
Due to its excellent stability and resistance to most acids and solvents, Ta₂O₅ is preferred in demanding applications requiring precision, purity, and durability.

Key Features

  • High Purity (99.95%) – Ensures consistent optical and electronic performance.

  • Excellent Dielectric Properties – Ideal for capacitor fabrication and thin-film insulation.

  • High Refractive Index – Enables superior optical coatings and interference filters.

  • Thermally Stable & Chemically Resistant – Resistant to corrosion and degradation under high heat.

  • Customisable Formats – Available in multiple sizes and weights; tailored options for bulk research and industrial coating systems.

Applications & Industries

  • Optical Coatings – Used for anti-reflective layers, mirrors, and interference filters due to its high refractive index.

  • Capacitor Dielectrics – Core material in high-performance tantalum capacitors.

  • Semiconductors & Thin Films – Acts as a high-k dielectric in integrated circuits.

  • Photonics & Telecommunications – Applied in waveguides and optical data storage films.

  • Research & Development – Commonly used for advanced material studies in thin-film technology.

FAQ

Q1: Why is Ta₂O₅ preferred for optical coatings?
Because of its high refractive index and excellent transparency across a wide wavelength range, it delivers superior reflection control and film durability.

Q2: Can these tablets be used in both e-beam and thermal evaporation?
Yes. Ta₂O₅ performs well in both processes, though e-beam evaporation is generally preferred for uniform coating.

Q3: Are custom dimensions or purities available?
Yes, Cell Lab provides customised tablet diameters, thicknesses, and purities upon request for specific coating systems.

Q4: What is the proper storage method?
Store in a cool, dry, and inert environment to maintain purity and avoid contamination prior to evaporation.
