Alloy steel pressing dies engineered for precise cylindrical pellet formation under bidirectional pressure
Cell Lab 15 mm Bidirectional Pressing Die Sets are designed for producing high-quality cylindrical pellets from powder materials. Constructed from Cr12MoV alloy tool steel with indenter hardness of HRC60–62, these dies ensure reliable strength and long service life under repeated high-pressure use.
The series includes both a Split Die Set (easy demolding design) and a Standard Cylindrical Die Set, allowing users to choose the most suitable configuration for their application. They are widely used in pharmaceuticals, materials science, analytical chemistry, and powder metallurgy, where precise and uniform pellet formation is essential.
Durable alloy steel construction — Made from Cr12MoV tool steel for strength and wear resistance.
Bidirectional pressing design — Ensures balanced compression for uniform pellet density.
Split die option — Facilitates easy demolding and reduces risk of sample damage.
Laboratory-grade precision — Suitable for spectroscopy, powder metallurgy, and R&D sample prep.
Compact design — 15 mm sample cavity, ideal for small-scale laboratory use.
| Product No. | Type | Reference Sample Size | Cavity Depth (mm) | Die Material | Indenter Hardness | Dimensions (mm) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CL0615 | Split Bidirectional | Φ15 mm (0.6") | 40 | Cr12MoV Alloy Tool Steel | HRC60–62 | Φ88 × 175 | 3 kg |
| CL0616 | Cylindrical Bidirectional | Φ15 mm (0.6") | 40 | Cr12MoV Alloy Tool Steel | HRC60–62 | Φ88 × 175 | 3 kg |
Pharmaceuticals — Tablet and pellet pressing for uniform compaction.
Materials science — Powder compaction for advanced material studies.
Analytical chemistry — Pellet preparation for spectroscopy and XRF analysis.
Powder metallurgy — Metal powder pelletisation for testing and prototyping.
Academic research labs — Compact, easy-to-use solution for teaching and R&D.
Q1: What is the difference between the Split and Standard versions?
The split design allows easier demolding of pressed pellets, while the standard cylindrical die set is more traditional and robust.
Q2: What materials can these die sets press?
They are suitable for ceramic, metallic, pharmaceutical, and chemical powders.
Q3: How should I maintain the die set?
Store in a dry place, clean after use, and apply light oil to prevent rust during storage.
Q4: Are these dies considered consumables?
Yes. Pressing dies are consumables; warranty only covers manufacturing defects.
Q5: Can larger cavity sizes be ordered?
Yes. Customisation is available on request, including larger rectangular, square, or cylindrical formats.
