Cell Lab 1 M NaPF₆ in EC/PC Electrolyte [Carbonate-Based Sodium-Ion Battery Electrolyte | High-Voltage NaPF₆ Solution | 1 kg 1:1 v/v]

High-stability carbonate electrolyte formulated for layered-oxide and hard-carbon sodium-ion systems

The Cell Lab 1 M NaPF₆ in EC/PC Electrolyte is a premium carbonate-based electrolyte engineered for next-generation sodium-ion battery research. Using an equal-volume (1:1 v/v) mixture of ethylene carbonate (EC) and propylene carbonate (PC), it provides a broad electrochemical stability window and superior compatibility with layered-oxide cathodes. Compared with ether-based solvents such as DGM, this carbonate formulation delivers enhanced oxidative stability and supports high-voltage operation, making it ideal for R&D coin-cell fabrication and prototype testing with hard-carbon anodes.

Key Features

  • Classic EC/PC Carbonate System: Broad electrochemical window ensures stable performance with high-voltage sodium cathodes.

  • Optimised for Na-Ion Coin Cells: Provides reliable cycling behaviour in laboratory and pilot-scale R&D applications.

  • Ultra-Low Moisture Content (≤ 10 ppm): Maintains electrolyte purity and suppresses parasitic side reactions.

  • Customisable Solvent Ratios: EC/PC proportions and additive packages can be tailored to specific research objectives.

  • Safe Hazmat Packaging: Supplied in sealed, moisture-proof bottles compliant with international transport standards.

Storage & Handling

  • Handle only in a dry, inert environment (preferably argon or nitrogen glovebox).

  • Keep container tightly sealed when not in use.

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from heat or ignition sources.

  • Avoid contact with oxidising agents and moisture.

  • Dispose of materials according to local safety regulations.

⚗️ Note: Compared with Cell Lab’s ether-based NaPF₆ in DGM electrolyte, this carbonate formulation offers higher oxidative stability and better compatibility with high-voltage layered oxide cathodes.

Applications & Industries

  • Sodium-ion battery electrolyte R&D

  • Coin-cell and prototype battery assembly

  • Layered oxide (NaMO₂) and Prussian white cathode testing

  • Hard-carbon anode performance evaluation

  • Academic and industrial energy-storage research

FAQ

Q1: What makes this carbonate electrolyte different from ether-based systems?
It offers higher oxidative stability and better compatibility with high-voltage cathodes, making it suitable for layered oxide Na-ion cells.

Q2: What is the recommended storage method?
Store in a sealed bottle within a dry, inert glovebox to prevent moisture uptake and hydrolysis of NaPF₆.

Q3: Is it ready to use for coin-cell fabrication?
Yes. It is supplied as a ready-to-use 1 M solution for Na-ion coin cell testing and electrochemical studies.

Q4: Can I customise the solvent composition or additives?
Yes. Cell Lab can adjust EC/PC ratios or add film-forming additives such as FEC or VC upon request.

Q5: Does this electrolyte support high-voltage Na-ion cells?
Yes. Its carbonate formulation enables stable operation up to 4.3 V vs Na⁺/Na.
