Durable cylindrical crucibles for calcination, metal casting and ceramic sample preparation
Cell Lab high-purity Alumina (Al₂O₃) Cylindrical Crucibles are crafted for laboratories and industrial applications requiring excellent thermal and chemical stability. With melting points above 2000 °C and a maximum working temperature of 1600 °C, these crucibles are ideal for calcination, ceramic sintering, and metal casting processes.
The cylindrical design provides uniform heat distribution and superior mechanical strength. Optional lids are available for a controlled low-oxygen environment during high-temperature treatments.
High thermal stability up to 1600 °C: Suitable for chemical calcination and powder sintering.
Excellent chemical resistance: Resists oxidation and corrosion from most reagents.
Cylindrical geometry: Ensures uniform temperature distribution and easy handling.
Customisable sizes: Dimensions and tolerances available upon request.
Optional covers: Enhance sealing and atmosphere control during processing.

Q1: What is the difference between cylindrical and high-form crucibles?
A1: Cylindrical crucibles offer a uniform geometry ideal for stable heat transfer, while high-form types are deeper for long calcination cycles with less spillage.
Q2: Should I pre-dry the crucible before first use?
A2: Yes. Place in an oven at 105 °C for 2 hours to remove moisture and avoid thermal shock.
Q3: Can these crucibles be used with molten metals?
A3: Yes — they are ideal for non-ferrous metal melting and oxide formation studies below 1600 °C.
Q4: What heating rate is recommended?
A4: Do not exceed 5 °C/min below 1200 °C or 4 °C/min above 1200 °C to prevent cracking.
Q5: Are custom sizes available?
A5: Yes — Cell Lab provides customised dimensions and matching lids upon request for research and industrial use.
